Those boys are the BEST. They arn't shy helping right away! looking at the problem you have when stopping by without appointment. One time they fixed a stucked seat-belt; after workig on it for about 15 min didnt ask for anything and didnt even take a tip. They are straight forward and you can feel confidence and honesty - its the kind of place you can trust what they say; no push or suggest doing this and that... only when one of my lightbulbs gave up did they incourage me to fix it as soon as possible (after I was reluctant since the new LED so expansive!) My car is there right now as I write....One time (at the70'maintainance) they checked on a noise on and off in the front of car. There was no bill for 'failure investigation' and the car stopped doing it :-) They are magic as well. I never had a thought about how happy it can make you once you know your car-duties are in good hands! It's awsome! Esp. since I got a complicated 'JamesBond, can do it all' Car (Touareg) and do trailering with it, I am just blissed to have somebody so trustworthy. I also read some other comments, and the fact that they reffered one job to VW dealer, no earning on failure search, says a million. Only honesty can do that. I also feel very good as a car-woman there. No strange look at me when I come in with another strange noise (I hear:) to check and always time to listen and talk over concerns. Its the place like good old days, having coffee in your car-shop and chat. THUMBS UP HIGH! Take your car in there - you will become a happy camper with your car-needs for sure.

I took my Volkswagen R32 in for an oil change and have a couple other small issues looked at and when I came to pick up my car I ended up talking with Lou for an extra 15 minutes as he gave me some good maintenance pointers and suggestions without being pushy about having the work done at his shop. I'd recommend Tony & Bros to anyone who expects straightforward and friendly service.

It's quite funny to see how the review here are extremely positive or as negative as they can get! People, Tony and Bors is probably one of the best auto repair shops in Sunnyvale. I have had all of my cars serviced there and I will continue to do it. Why? Because they are professional, and actually pretty honest! Lou is great to do business with. I have taken a "beat up" Golf, Porshe, and a Saab and I am about to take my 2006 Volvo there. I had a check engine problem a couple of years ago and my Golf wasn't passing smog check. They worked on my car and didn't charge me anything until the car passes smog check. How amazing is that. Oh and if they tell you to go to the dealership or somewhere else if they can't fix anything or if you feel like it is expensive, just do it please. Don't negotiate and act like they are unprofessional. At least they are honest. How many auto shops you can name that will do that, huh....?

I have 2 cars that Lou @ Tony & Bros has been taking care of for the past few years. I am extremely lucky I found this shop. Not only Lou is very knowledgeable, but he is one of the rare few mechanics who is extremely honest. I recommend all my family and friends to go to his shop.

I took my 99 Jetta to these guys after i bought it from my manager for a couple simple repairs. She'd been taking the car to them for years so they came highly recommended. They did not disappoint; the repairs were done in a timely fashion, they cleaned the leaked oil and coolant off of the engine AND I got the 20% discount (see above). I'd send any of my friends/family with euro cars to them.

I have been servicing Audis at Tony & Brothers since 1998. When the reverse lights in my 1996 A6 started popping fuses at a rate of one per week Stevens Creek, Rector, and Carlsen all gave me ridiculous quotes to even look at the problem ($1500+). Driving by one day, I decided to pull in and see if these guys could give me a better quote. Tony and Lou's uncle was there and after I had explained the problem nodded and told me in his Croatian accent "I know what problem is." He promptly opened my trunk and pointed to some wires. In disbelief I asked "are you sure?" Shaking his head he walked back into the shop and returned with wire-cutters and electrical tape. He quickly cut the offending wires, stripped them, twisted them back together, and then taped it all up. My reverse lights were still out and the passenger side mirror did not auto-tilt down when I shifted into reverse because the fuse was blown. The fuse was quickly replaced and everything worked! When I asked how much the bill was I was told in the same Croatian accent "don't worry about it" and waved off. I have returned ever since then with my Audis and my friends' Audis. Tony and Lou are EXTREMELY knowledgeable. They focus in on exactly what is wrong and fix it. They provide solid advice that should always be followed. They also provide preventative maintenance that keeps you rolling problem-free. I have never been to a more honest shop. If you have a problem that they can diagnose and fix; it is done. If they do not think they can fix it right they will tell you that and send you off to a dealer. If you are trying to do something yourself and you mess it up, don't be surprised if they do not want to deal with it.

I've been to these guys several times with my Audi A4, and they've always been quick, professional, and reasonably priced. They explain things in as much detail as you want, and I haven't had a problem with any of their work over 4 years (on a 120,000 mile Audi, that's not insignificant). Also, when the budget has been tight, they've offered alternatives and helped me decide what I'm better off spending money on now and what I can put off for a couple of months.

My Audi Allroad has been leaking little engine oil for a while which as you can imagine could be quite irritating. I went to a couple of European auto repair/service shops to get estimate, and just off the bat they recommended changing cam tensioner and valve cover seals (which is very typical in the Audi 2.7T engines) - estimated to be around $800-$1900 (some said it was the Turbo Oil lines, engine galley plug etc. etc.). I went to these guys based on my friends recommendation. They did not disappoint me. Lou diagnosed that the oil leaks were very very minor and that there was no need to do anything - though he said if I want he could stop the leaks completely for a estimated labor time of 4-5 hours, (Since the leaks were so minor and that it was of no adverse consequence, I did not take any further action). Lou also talked at length on various aspects of maintenance etc. We had an interesting conversation! Not to mention that he charged me only 30-minutes of labor ($50) instead of the initial quote of 1 hour - a small thing, but goes to show their ethics. The short of it - I really liked these people for their openness to help out in the most practical manner. As a person who understands quite a bit about automobiles, I fully agreed with Lou's take that not everything needs to be fixed without compromising the safety and performance of a car. Before you take your European puppy anywhere else, definitely go to this place for an opinion.

Great service, so nice, and they took great care of my baby:-) They actually called me to let me know that I didn't need a brake job that I'd requested (due to another oil change place telling me that I did) which they very well could have done and made $500 off of. But no, they said my brakes were ALMOST NEW and that the other place had screwed me over, saving me a ton of cash! They also got me a deal on some pricey tires with a neighboring business Great for VWs, very fair price and they got my car in and out in less than 2 days! To agree with another user, its like I have a brand new car now! Thanks Lou!

I went here on a recommendation from a couple of folks at work. One of them is a reviewer, Bobby K. I have to agree 100% with Bobby's experience. I have an Audi A6 4.2, they have done a valve job, timing belt, tune-up, and numerous oil changes. I also have a 2001 Jetta VR6 I bought for my girlfriend from them, way less than KBB, was a steal in my book. The girlfriend loves it, nary a problem with it. If you like good honest mechanics and own a European car, I highly recommend this place. BTW the valve job was ~$4k, about half of what a dealer would have charged, and I get the same guarantee that the dealer gives on work. Do the math...
